The People Time Forgot
Barefoot Man plays again! This wonderful coffee table style publication is a collection of Barefoot's best black and white photographs. When Barefoot first arrived in Grand Cayman the island had no radio or TV station, there were but a few hotels and restaurants and maybe three taxi drivers. George knew the peaceful charm could not last forever with Grand Cayman's spectacular beaches and reefs and development was just around the corner. So he started snapping photos of the old fishermen, the old houses and warm smiles. In 1997 Barefoot turned his entire photo collection over to the National Archives who in turn collaborated with the National Museum to publish this book. It is available only through the National Museum of the Cayman Islands and all profits from the publication go to the museum and their fine work in preserving the islands history and culture. You can order by sending a fax to (345) 949-0309. Make sure to include your contact information, as the Museum will have to determine shipping costs to your location. Be sure to visit the museum during your visit to Grand Cayman. $35.70 (not including shipping)

Barefoot in the Movies
(The Cayman Triangle on DVD)
The Cayman Triangle on DVDIn the early 70's when there was no radio, TV or traffic a motley crew of Caymanians and x-pats were invited to play parts in a motion picture produced by Andy Humphries, one of the owners of the old Holiday Inn. Andy asked me to write a theme song for the film, which I did. Soon taking note of my constant fooling around, he cast me (for a payment of one dollar and all the FREE beer I wanted ) as the court-jester. The character I played was the slave of DURTY REID WALKER the meanest one legged pirate to ever sail the Caribbean sea. Durty Reid had stolen me from one of the King's ships and I was now at his mercy to entertain him and his gang of cut-throats. There are scenes of the rare turtle-shark and "Fluffy" the famous gay pirate. Why there is even a bedroom scene with myself, the hunchback and a pregnant virgin.

The entire movie is a spoof on the Bermuda Triangle .... and to describe how much fun we had making the film would be impossible... I'm sure it comes across in the final result. There are several scenes of me performing in my jester outfit, and even my good friend Andy Martin does a singing scene in this non-Oscar winning production. There are also some extra clips of us in the studio recently re-recording some of the old songs from the movie. In the 70's the movie won a few awards at some of the lesser known film festivals.

The movie runs approx 90 minutes (in color) on DVD ... for some good laughs and old memories... I highly recommend this for your movie library.
